California gallery features Bennett’s work

55_bennettswork_01A broad scope of work by Oakland, Calif., artist and studio furniture maker Garry Knox Bennett is on display through Nov. 13 in the Main Gallery and Atrium Gallery at The Richmond Art Center in Richmond, Calif. Tables, sideboards, table lamps, accent lamps, and chairs are accompanied by a representation of clocks, twirlings, select Electro prints and paintings.

Amateurs shine at Design in Wood exhibit

54_atg_aThe San Diego Fine Woodworkers Association held its 29th Design in Wood exhibition June 12-July 5, co-sponsored by the San Diego County Fair and the 22nd District Agricultural Association. What is considered to be the largest woodworking exhibition in the country, this year's juried exhibit featured more than 350 pieces and a total attendance of about 2.3 million.

Newcomers shine at Midwest juried show

‘Fly by night’ artist wows at Boston show

54_fly_01Furniture maker Jenna Goldberg recently had her second solo exhibition, which ran through July 16, at Boston's Gallery NAGA. Her cabinets, tables and vanities are recognized for a combination of craftsmanship, carving and painting. Her six-week show, "Wallflower," was three years in the making and coincidentally coincided with the annual Furniture Society conference held across the Charles River at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in Cambridge, Mass.
