Philly furniture show draws mixed reviews

Celebrating its 20th year, the annual Philadelphia Invitational Furniture Show was held April 4-6 at the 23rd Street Armory. Show director Josh Markel said the show was sold out with more than 60 exhibitors. Exhibitors interviewed by Woodshop News expressed mixed rates of sales activity.

IWF planners are counting on bigger show

iwfThe International Woodworking Fair is fast approaching, slated for Aug. 20-23 at the Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta. Show chairman Rick Hannigan says there will be more exhibitors and expects larger crowds at the year’s biggest industry trade show.

Furniture Society honors Pritam & Eames founders

The dynamic pair founded the Pritam & Eames furniture gallery in East Hampton, N.Y. The annual award will be presented June 19-21 at the studio furniture group’s conference in Port Townsend, Wash.

Entry deadline nears for Veneer Tech contest

entryNow in its 10th year, entries are still being sought for the annual Veneer Tech Craftsman’s Challenge, a woodworking design competition emphasizing creative uses of veneer. The contest is sponsored by Veneer Technologies and the entry deadline is June 1. The winners will be recognized at an awards ceremony during the Aug. 20-23 IWF in Atlanta.
