IWF expects better attendance in August

12_news_desk_1Registration for the 2012 IWF, which runs Aug. 22-25 at the Georgia World Congress Center, is well above the 2010 pace. About 800 companies are expected to exhibit, while attendance projections range from 12,000 to 14,000, according to IWF president and CEO Patrick LaFramboise.

Session focuses on staying competitive

The U.S. Forest Service’s Wood Education and Resource Center in Princeton, W.Va., hosted a five-day workshop from March 5-9 called Wood Industry Week — a.k.a. WIW@WERC 2012. Co-sponsored by the Virginia Cooperative Extension, the event featured eight sessions designed to help wood industry businesses stay competitive in a global economy.
