Stiles Machinery announces the launch of its latest CAD/CAM software solution, SmartCabinet.
SmartCabinet was designed to address the gaps that currently exist for small- to mid-sized woodworking businesses, offering user-friendly software to streamline the design and engineering process for professionals, according to the company.
“SmartCabinet can be integrated with the programs Cut Rite, woodWOP, HOMAG Production Manager, and intelliDivide, allowing easy data transferring between them and a smooth workflow from design to Production,” the company said in a statement.
“The software is simple enough that it requires no Auto-CAD or engineering background to use. For those who would benefit from additional program instruction, Stiles offers online learning courses and/or training with our service professionals.”
Stiles adds that SmartCabinet is designed to cater to businesses with five to 100 employees, and is available with subscription and perpetual licensing options, allowing customers to choose the plan that suits their needs and budget.
The Altendorf Group was honored with the International ISSA Section Machine and System Safety Award for its Hand Guard Safety Assistance System.
Hand Guard, available on Altendorf sliding table saws, uses advanced cameras and artificial intelligence to achieve an immediate disappearance of the saw blade when there is any dangerous approach, thanks to the recognition of specific hand characteristics.
“We are honored and elated to be recognized by the ISSA Section Machine and System Safety for our Hand Guard Safety Assistance System,” Peter Schwenk, CEO of the Altendorf Group, said in a statement. “This achievement underscores our unwavering dedication to creating innovative solutions that prioritize the safety and well-being of workers globally.”
The HOMAG Group announced it will suspend its participation in the Holz-Handwerk trade fair in Nuremberg, Germany next year.
Instead, the manufacturer for woodworking machinery and systems for the wood-processing industry will present its innovations to customers at several local, decentralized events.
In a statement, CEO Dr. Daniel Schmitt cites the adjusted trade fair strategy for more difficult economic times as one of the reasons for the decision.
“Even if it is difficult for us, after a thorough analysis we have decided to focus primarily on the leading international trade fairs such as LIGNA in Hanover, Germany, IWF in Atlanta, U.S.A. or Interzum in Guangzhou, China. This does not mean, however, that we have cancelled our participation in the Nuremberg trade fair for all time. We will reassess the situation again in two years.,” he said.
