Cresswood Shredding Machinery, manufacturer of the Destroyer brand of single-shaft, low-RPM wood shredders, will introduce the new EF-48 model at IWF 2014.
The EF-48 end feed or horizontal shredder is designed to fill a specific niche for processing in high-volume lumber mills, re-sawing and millwork operations, and flooring plants, according to the company.
Other EF-48 applications include size reduction of wood scrap from panel saws, and CNC routers. The EF-48 Shredder may be utilized as an in-line companion processor, taking wood directly off the high-speed saws for reduced material handling costs.
The custom-built EF-48 is a streamlined low profile shredder, designed to easily ‘tuck-in’ to a processing line, saving valuable floor space with either flow-through or drop-down infeed to the conveyor, according to the company.
Cresswood says the shredder features a new heavy-duty vibrating conveyor, upgraded with a higher service factor to handle the weights required by quick-load applications. The EF-48 also features Cresswood’s exclusive counter-weighted, air-assist drive roll design, equipped with replaceable teeth to optimize throughput.
For ease of maintenance, the EF-48 shredder is engineered with Cresswood’s Ever-New Technology. By designing-in renewability for shredder wear-parts, Ever-New contributes to machine durability and reduces long-term operational costs, the company says.
The EF-48 shredder will be on display at Booth No. 5428.
