Amana Tool will feature its new solid-carbide, double-ball-bearing, flush-trim router bit for trimming plastic and laminate materials at IWF 2014.
Developed in response to customer demand for a small bit that can easily maneuver in tight corners and intricate designs, the two flute router bit features a mirror-finish polish with a razor sharp cutting edge for producing clean, smooth cuts in plastics. The finish also enables effortless chip removal, which helps prevent chip rewelding, and extended tool life, according to the company.
Ideal for use in both handheld and tabletop routers, Amana’s double-ball-bearing design provides smoother action around the contours of a template because of increased stability. The bits are made according to strict tolerances from solid carbide and polished to a mirror finish using Amana’s unique process. The double-ball-bearing flush-trim bit is designed as a complement to Amana’s CNC solid-carbide spiral “O” flute router bits for plastic materials.
The Amana solid-carbide, double-ball-bearing, flush-trim bit, item No. 51436, is available in a 1/4” diameter and starts at about $43.
