Pillar Machine will showcase the Finger Joint, a PLC driven, two-zone miter machine to produce standard parts for mitered cabinet doors.
The machine includes two 5-hp direct drive spindles for cutting the miter and two 1-hp direct-drive spindles for drilling the dowel holes, according to the company.
The carriages are equipped with z axis “jump cylinders” that allow hogging cutters to remove the majority of the miter prior to cutting the finger joints.
The twin independent tool carriages allow for pendulum processing between zones one and two.
