AHFA awards 12 scholarships

The American Home Furnishings Alliance has handed out a dozen Solution Partners Scholarships to children of home furnishings industry workers.

“With the 2019-2020 school year having ended so abruptly, we may forget that there are millions of high schoolers still looking forward with great expectation to beginning their college education in August. AHFA and its Solution Partners division were happy to share some happy news with 12 of those students earlier this month,” says Pat Bowling, AHFA vice president of communications.

The Solution Partners include more than 100 member companies that supply equipment, components and services to the residential furniture industry. The fund is supported by the annual Solution Partners Education Golf Tournament. This year marks the 30th anniversary of this tournament. It is scheduled for Sept. 30 at Lake Hickory Country Club in Hickory, N.C.

Students may reapply for the $2,500 scholarship each year they are in school, provided a parent remains employed full time at a company that is a manufacturer, importer or supplier member of the AHFA. The scholarships may be applied to any college, university or technical school. The deadline for applications is Jan. 31 each year, and awards are announced in April.
