Kevin O’Connor of Samson Marketing in High Point, N.C., was elected 2016 chairman of the American Home Furnishings Alliance during the organization’s annual meeting in San Antonio, Texas, which ran Nov. 12-15.
Samson Marketing is the U.S. marketing arm of Samson Holding, parent company of Universal Furniture, Smartstuff by Universal, Craftmaster Upholstery, Legacy Classic Furniture and Legacy Classic Kids.
Richard Magnussen, CEO of Magnussen Home Furnishings in Ontario was elected first vice chairman, and Bill Wittenburg, CEO of Klaussner Home Furnishings in Asheboro, N.C., was elected second vice chairman.
AHFA’s 2015 chairman, Kevin Sauder, president and CEO of Sauder Woodworking in Archbold, Ohio, moves to immediate past-chairman of the board of directors for 2016. All of the new officers assume their posts on Jan. 1.
AHFA represents more than 200 leading furniture manufacturers and distributors, along with about 150 suppliers to the furniture industry worldwide.
