ApplePly design competition announced

States Industries is accepting entries for "The Art of ApplePly," a design competition for furniture, fixtures, cabinets, art, toys, puzzles and more, made principally of ApplePly.

ApplePly is a hardwood inner-ply panel, typically with a maple face and back veneers, but all domestic and many imports are available, according to Bill Powell, the company’s marketing manager.

“It uses a two-step lamination process for improved flatness and phenolic and soy resins for no added formaldehyde. ApplePly is typically FSC-certified, though distributors must specify this to receive proper documentation. It has been a flagship product for States Industries for almost 20 years. It is very popular with architects and designers and is often specified for the attractive, solid edges it provides.”
