The American Subcontractors Association is encouraging “prime contractors” to apply for its National Construction Best Practices awards.

Prime contractors are those that construction subcontractors say are the best to work for, according to the trade association.

“The purpose of these awards is to commend those specialty trade contractors and general contractors that exemplify the values of subcontractors, treat subcontractors fairly through use of level-playing-field contract terms, and consider subcontractors part of their core project teams,” Shannon MacArthur, chair of the ASA task force on ethics in the construction industry, said in a statement. “The task force has set a very high bar.”

The application deadline is Nov. 13.
