Greg Engle is the new owner of Certainly Wood, a veneer supplier in East Aurora, N.Y., following the retirement of founder Jim Dumas.

Engle, the long-time sales and purchasing manager at Certainly Wood, says he’s excited to continue the company’s legacy with the help of a terrific team.

“I’m extremely thrilled about taking ownership of Certainly Wood after being here 36 years. Since the company turned 40 last year, that’s when we exchanged discussions on the change of ownership. Seeing the development and growth of this company, when it started out as a garage-based business, and turning into a brand that’s recognized globally is just to me, unbelievable,” Engle tells Woodshop News.

“But more importantly, to me, it’s the team of people that have been here and are working here at Certainly Wood that has created our current stand in this worldwide market of natural wood veneer.”

Engle adds that he’s grateful to Jim and his wife Roz Dumas for allowing him the opportunity to purchase the company. Certainly Wood currently sells well over 100 different species of domestic and foreign hardwood veneers. It serves hobbyists, cabinetmakers and architectural millworkers in North America and beyond.
