“Placing: The Windgate Arts Residency Program in Wood 2023,” opened Aug. 4 and will run through Oct. 15 at the Museum for Art in Wood in Philadelphia.
The exhibition features the work of the 2023 Windgate Arts Residency Program fellows, an international cohort of artists who traveled to Philadelphia to live and work together for two months, researching, exploring, and collaborating efforts involving artistic practices with wood.
Now in its 26th year, the residency offers artists specializing in the material of wood the opportunity to test their vision and skill, while developing connections with colleagues, collectors and the city of Philadelphia.
The 2023 WARP fellows include Teresa Audet of Madison, Wis.; Emma Chorostecki of Toronto; Terry Holzgreen of Los Angeles; Adam John Manley of San Diego; Maiko Sugano of Ibaraki, Japan/Tainan, Taiwan; Laura Zelaya of Colon, Entre Rios, Argentina; and Deirdre Visser of San Francisco.
