The International Wood Products Association announced additional speakers for its 2014 World of Wood Convention, scheduled for March 5-7, in St. Petersburg.
Dustan McCoy, chairman and chief executive officer of Brunswick Corp., will address attendees on Friday, March 7 at the Vinoy Renaissance Resort & Golf Club.
“We are excited to welcome Mr. McCoy to the 55th annual World of Wood Convention, the premier convention for the imported wood industry,” IWPA executive director Cindy Squires said in a statement. “Brunswick Corporation is a global leader in the marine, fitness, bowling, and billiards product categories and Mr. McCoy will have great insight into consumer demand, trends and market projections for this recovery. In addition, Mr. McCoy will give attendees his perspective on government regulation and the importance of corporate engagement with the political system.”
Other speakers include Scott Clemons, chief investment strategist for Brown Brothers Harriman & Co., and John Spence, author of Awesomely Simple.
Jeffrey Grimson from Mowry & Grimson PLLC, counsel to the American Alliance for Hardwood Plywood, will provide a debrief for IWPA members on the successful resolution of the ITC hardwood plywood antidumping/countervailing duty case, and an update on post-investigation appeals or other possible actions by the petitioners’ group.
Attendees will also get a comprehensive briefing on the EPA and CARB formaldehyde proposed regulations on composite wood products, and the latest information regarding on the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species in Wild Fauna and Flora.
