L.R.H. Enterprises Inc. established a Rent-A-Cutter program that allows customers to lease tooling at a fraction of its purchase price. The tooling manufacturer will offer some of its most popular profiles in brazed shaper cutters and insert tooling for the woodworking industry.
The program was developed in light of the current economic climate, when woodworking professionals are seeking ways to lower expenses, with the goal to help customers afford tooling to keep their businesses competitive, says vice president Curt Hubert.
“Rent-A-Cutter allows us to lease the tooling at a fraction of the cost of anything overseas. So if price is an issue, this will allow woodworkers to get American quality at a low price,” says Hubert.
Hubert says rented tooling is about a third of its purchase price. For example, a raised panel cutter would cost about $73 to rent and about $290 to buy. Rental-period options include 15-day and 30-day rentals, and single weeks can be added on. Once finished with the tooling, the customer simply mails it back to the company.
