Bosch announced the introduction Wednesday morning of the ReaXX 10” job-site table saw with flesh-detecting safety technology.
The saw, model GTS1041A, features the company’s Active Response Technology platform, first launched on its Brute Tough hammer drill/drivers. It helps reduce the risk of injury to users by combining advanced Bosch sensors and electronics with mechanical injury-prevention systems, according to the company.
“The Active Response Technology system on the ReaXX table saw rapidly detects human flesh that comes in contact with the blade and drops the saw blade below the tabletop. This high-speed action helps reduce the potential of serious user injury and occurs without damaging the blade,” the company said in a statement.
After activation, the system can be reset in less than 60 seconds. A single two-shot cartridge enables activation for two incidents before replacement is needed, the company said.
Bosch says the saw will be available this fall.
