Rockler Woodworking and Hardware introduced a series of Contour Sanding Grips for sanding convex and concave shapes, edging and other rounded detail work.
The Contour Sanding Grips feature convex and concave profiles on opposite ends, enabling even sanding of virtually any rounded shape, including bead molding, fluted columns, coves, roundovers, spindle profiles, dowels and many others without blunting details or changing the shape. The grips are made of a rubbery material that allows the user to easily wrap sandpaper around the profile and pinch it against the body so it won't slip while in use, according to the company.
“Achieving even sanding on rounded shapes and detail work can be a real pain, and can even ruin the project," Rockler vice president of merchandising and proprietary Steve Krohmer said in a statement. "These Contour Sanding Grips not only provide the right shape for the task, but the sandpaper doesn't slip off of the rubbery surface. It's a very simple, very effective solution."
The Contour Sanding Grips are priced at $14.99 per set.
