The Regional Wood Products Consortium, a collaboration between Sustainable Forest Futures and the wood products manufacturing industry in Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont and northern New York, will conduct a series of one-day workshops on lean manufacturing.
The workshops are geared toward leaders of small- and medium-sized wood products companies and will be repeated in five locations throughout the four-state region on Oct. 19 in Augusta, Maine; Oct. 20 in Concord, N.H.; Oct. 21 in Montpelier, Vt.; Nov. 3 in Glens Falls, N.Y., and Nov. 4 in Utica, N.Y.
Each workshop will feature presentations and an opportunity to interact with experts on lean manufacturing as it relates to the wood products industry. Featured presenters include Dr. Earl Kline and Dr. Urs Buehlmann of the Virginia Tech Department of Wood Science and Forest Products.
