Quincy Compressor acquired four National Pump & Compressor branches in Illinois. Formerly operating as Cochrane Compressor and acquired by National Pump & Compressor in 2009, the company has been a Quincy distributor for more than 60 years.
“Our manufacturing business began in Quincy, Illinois nearly 100 years ago in 1920. This acquisition allows us to focus on sales and service in the Midwest,” Quincy Compressor president John Thompson said in a statement. “We have established strong customer relationships in the region and intend to strengthen our market presence, building upon the solid customer base established by National Pump & Compressor’s Chicago-based team.”
Forty-three employees in a variety of sales and service roles have joined Quincy Compressor from National Pump & Compressor. The acquired branches now form Quincy’s direct sales and service center in Illinois.
Headquartered in Bay Minette, Ala. Quincy Compressor is a designer and manufacturer of reciprocating and rotary screw air compressors, from one-third to 350 horsepower; vacuum pumps and a full line of air treatment components.
