WGBH Boston began airing the Emmy-nominated public television series “Rough Cut with Fine Woodworking” in April with a new host, professional woodworker and teacher Tom McLaughlin.
The show’s name recognizes a new partner, Fine Woodworking magazine, while Woodcraft continues as a primary sponsor.
“Woodcraft welcomes Tom McLaughlin, a highly acclaimed woodworker and instructor who has appeared as a guest in several previous episodes and anticipates the show will continue to provide our customers with excellent instruction in woodworking,” Woodcraft president Jody Garrett said in a statement.
McLaughlin has been making and designing commissioned custom furniture since 1990. He is a member and former chairman of the New Hampshire Furniture Masters Association and has written articles for numerous newspapers, magazines, and woodworking journals.
This season’s projects include a Craftsman-style dining chair, Shaker-style hall table, tilt-top round breakfast table, Shaker blanket chest with drawer, and live-edge coffee table.
