Southern Forest Products Association elects 2014 officers

The Southern Forest Products Association’s board of directors elected its 2014 slate of officers during its fall meeting in New Orleans.

They are chairman Joe Kusar of Tolleson and Ilim Timber Co. in Perry, Ga.; vice chairman Scott Vande Linde of West Fraser in Germantown, Tenn., and treasurer William Almond of Almond Brothers Lumber Co. in Coushatta, La.

Tom Rice of Conner Industries in Fort Worth, Texas, will serve as immediate past chairman. The board also reelected Steve Conwell as president and Tami Kessler as corporate secretary.

“I look forward to working with the excellent staff at SFPA,” Kusar said in a statement. “Our association is a strong voice in the industry, and I hope to build on that strength as our industry continues to rebound.”
