WGBH's Emmy-nominated woodworking series, "Rough Cut: Woodworking with Tommy Mac," is back for a third season featuring 13 new projects and two special celebrity guest stars.

Beginning Saturday, Oct. 6 (check local listings), Tommy MacDonald walks viewers through creating a collection of diverse pieces of furniture for all skill levels in a variety of projects that offer distinctive contemporary and traditional styles. Tune in to learn how to make a coopered leg table, workbench, barley twist lamp, mitered hall table, dovetailed toolbox, frame with hand carved lettering, bamboo vanity, laminated bowl, demilune table, free standing deck and steam-bent lounge chair.

MacDonald travels to Los Angeles to visit the woodshop of Nick Offerman, who plays Ron Swanson on NBC's “Parks and Recreation,” to build a king-size platform bed.

The season concludes with a visit to the home of Jim Craig, goalie for the 1980 "Miracle on Ice" U.S. Olympic hockey team, for a media center project.

The season also features visits to the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston and International Yacht Restoration School in Newport, R.I.
