Virginia Tech will host a “Think Light: Innovative Lightweight Panels” symposium Nov. 17-18 and Nov. 19-20 in Grand Rapids, Mich.

The symposium, supported by Stiles Machinery and FDM magazine, will feature lightweight panel technology and market information provided by industry experts on the first day, and hands-on, “real-world,” lightweight panel production experiences at Stiles Machinery on the second day. Virginia Tech is also hosting a workshop on “Remaining Competitive in Hardwood Component Production,” supported by the Forest Servive’s Wood Education and Resource Center and National Hardwood Lumber Association, on April 20-21, 2009, in Princeton, W.V. The workshop will focus on the economy, the state of the industry, and component certification.
