Woodpeckers Adds Mortising Bits

Woodpeckers recently released its latest Ultra-Shear router bits, including five solid carbide Metric Spiral Mortising Bits in sizes that match Festool's Domino tenons (4, 5, 6, 8 and 10mm) and five Metric Half-Round Bits in the same sizes.

“The half-round bits allow you to make loose tenon stock to fit mortises cut with Festool's Domino joining machine or mortises cut with the new spiral bits. Now your loose tenon joinery is no longer tied to the ready-made Dominos. You can make stock to fit the wider settings on the Domino or use your router to cut even wider mortises,” the company said.

“The Metric Half-Rounds all have 1/2" shanks and should be used in a router table. The 3 smaller Metric Spirals have 1/4" shanks while the 8 and 10mm sizes are 1/2" shank. All bits are available individually or in matched sets for mortising or tenon shaping.”
