Felder recently introduced the FB740S band saw featuring the company’s X-Roll sliding table and an outrigger table with a crosscut fence. The band saw offers 24” of cutting height and can be configured with sliding table lengths of 5’ to 12’ and several motor options.

“The push for us in bringing this to the market has a lot to do with customers who have cutting requirements that are higher than 8” and this tends to happen in the industry where we’re focusing on large joinery and mixed material operations,” says product manager Jesse Maynerich.

“In terms of advantages, the cutting height is something duly notable. The 24” of cutting height is particularly unique in its ability. Also, the sliding table has a large support area. I can’t say enough about the X-Roll slider. Felder is renowned for their sliding table saws and this slider in particular. Having that accuracy where you might have big heavy material or material where you need to be very precise, there’s no way for that table to torque and bend because of the X-Roll.”

The outrigger table features rollers, a crosscut fence that swivels from 90 to 45 degrees, and a standard fence stop.

Standard motor options range from 7-1/2 to 15 hp. The FB740S starts at $33,000. Visit felder-group.com.
