Grizzly Industrial has added a deluxe model to its line of 14” band saws, featuring cast-iron wheels, rack-and-pinion guide post adjustment for the upper blade guides and a T-shape fence design.

Built with a heavy-duty steel frame, the model GO555LX provides greater blade tension, which results in better performance when resawing, more accurate cuts and reduces vibration, according to Grizzly quality-control manager Bill Crofutt.

The saw boasts a 1-hp, single-phase motor and offers two blade speeds (1,500 and 3,200 fpm. Other features include ball-bearing blade guides, quick-release blade tensioner, 13-1/2” throat capacity, 14” x 14” cast-iron table, heavy-duty sheet metal stand and 4” dust port.

“Having two blade speeds is significant in that it allows for greater versatility having the right speed for a given job, depending on material being cut and the choice of blades,” says Crofutt.

“The G0555LX has a six inch resaw capacity as supplied. However, we have an optional riser block (H3051) that extends the resaw capacity to 12”, greatly increasing its ability to handle larger pieces and projects.”

The deluxe model sells for an introductory price of $445. When the sale expires, it will sell for $545.

“Over the last several years, the U.S. has seen a steady rise in prices from Asia and band saws were not immune to this. The introduction of the G0555LX rolls back those prices a few years, yet provides features not found on saws costing much more even then. This is really all about providing Grizzly customers with an exceptionally nice tool and at price not seen in a long time,” adds Crofutt.
