Makita U.S.A. introduces the 40-volt, two-gallon, Quiet Series compressor, model AC001GM1, with a brushless motor that can drive up to 700 brad nails on a single charge, according to the company.

“As Makita continues to expand the XGT System, the compressor was engineered for interior finish carpenters that use pneumatic nail guns,” Rudy Jansen, Makita product marketing manager, said in a statement.

“With its low noise, light weight design and portability, the compressor can be transported to and from a jobsite, up and down stairs, and for room-to-room use.”

The compressor weighs about 23 pounds with the battery installed and features a roll-cage.

“The roll-cage construction provides the protection engineered to withstand a variety of job site, transporting, and storage environments,” the company said. “It (also) features an oil-free pump for maintenance-free operation, a lever-handle tank drain for easy air tank release, and large pressure gauges for easier visibility of tank and hose pressure.”

The new compressor is part of Makita XGT, an expanding system of 40- and 80-volt cordless equipment and tools that shares a battery platform. The line-up will include over 125 products by year’s end, according to Makita.

The compressor (tool only) sells for $399. For more, visit makitatools.com
