Leadermac introduces the Smartmac Series, a line of four-sided molders with a small footprint and an economical price point, according to the company.

“The principle behind the Smartmac is it’s an entry-level molder but it gives the operator full production components such as four-sided planing and a wide range of molding opportunities with a small footprint machine. It gives customers an efficient single-pass machine, removing the need of running multiple pieces of equipment to make their production,” says Graham Akhurst, vice president of sales for Akhurst Machinery, the North American distributor of Leadermac machines.

“It’s designed to allow changeovers, giving the operators the ability to deal with what they’re being faced with more and more today, which are shorter runs and quicker turnaround time requests.”

The Smartmac Series includes a four-spindle (LMC-4235) and five-spindle (LMC-5235) model, available with 7-1/2 to 15-hp motors.

The molders feature a cast iron machine frame, full safety enclosure, hard-chromed table surfaces, adjustable cutterhead guard, powered top and bottom feed rolls, and a versatile last top horizontal spindle, which can be fitted with planning knives or multiple saw blades.

Options include LED readout, an Easyset controller with touch screen control, and a universal spindle that can be operated horizontally, vertically or at any angle in between.

The Smartmac molders start at just over $40,000, according to the company.
