Nordfab America, a ductwork component and design provider, has introduced a new online 3D drawing tool, Quick-Fit Visual (QFV). The QFV program allows Nordfab dealers to quickly create 3D designs for dust collection installations.

“This tool makes designing dust collections very simple for people that are not experienced at designing a dust collection system. It gives users that instant gratification of drawing out a system in a 3D plane and turns it into a solid view with all the ductwork properly sized and any static pressure calculations given into the system,” says Ray Garner, an application engineer for Nordfab.

The program uses simple line drawing tools to create an intended duct path, then converts the path to a 3D image with automatic duct sizing and static pressure loss calculations. It also generates an immediate quote, bill of material, and installation plan.

The program also generates a .dwg file, which can be imported into CAD applications for integration with more comprehensive facility drawings. Nordfab dealers can place orders for their customers within minutes of the creation of a QFV design.

QFV incorporates Nordfab’s standard Quick-Fit Ducting. The program received a Visionary New Product Award at the AWFS Fair in July.
