Preston Machinery, a Michigan-based company specializing in dust collection products and services, recently introduced the new Murphy 5,000 CFM enclosure-less indoor dust collector, model MKOB-369-3B.

Preston’s lead engineer and sales manager, Thomas Preston III, worked with N.R. Murphy of Cambridge, Ontario, in designing the product. N.R. Murphy was formerly known as Murphy-Rogers in the United States until 2010.

“We’ve worked closely with N.R. Murphy to recreate their indoor dust collectors that it stopped producing in the U.S. during the last recession,” says Preston.

The 15-hp stand-alone dust collector can run a 16” duct and is ideal for use with a fully nested cell or several small machines, according to Preston.

“We are achieving 5,000 cfm, which is the largest you can put indoors, with 369 square feet of filter area and 9” of water gravity rating. It also has an impeller designed to avoid clogs from edgebanding material and stringy wood,” he says.

The collector sells for $11,220.
