Rikon Power Tools has introduced the 950 CFM air filtration system, model 61-200, the first of five new systems that will be unveiled at July’s AWFS in Las Vegas. Rikon vice president Rod Burrow says the company is expanding into the air filtration market based on customer feedback about the importance of proper dust management.

The 61-200 is the line’s base model, offering three speed settings and a 1/4-hp motor to provide 480, 750 and 950 CFM of filtered air. “Some operations may not need full CFM operations. So it you’re doing light sanding, you can have it on the low speed setting. If you’re doing heavy-duty sanding or turning or table saw work, you may want it on the highest setting,” says Burrow.

The unit has three timer settings that will filter air in two-, four- or eight-hour segments. Rikon says the 61-200 can fully circulate the air in a 20' x 20' room with 8' ceilings 14 times per hour.

Other features include a solid steel cabinet to minimize vibration; a durable powder-coat finish; an easy-to-change pre-filter and secondary bag filter, and a remote control. The unit, which has four factory-installed eye bolts for a ceiling installation, measures 30-1/2" high, 23-5/8" wide and 12-1/4" deep. It weighs about 66 lbs.

The filtration unit sells for $329.99 and comes with a 5-micron pre-filter and 1-micron inner bag filter. Accessories include electrostatic and charcoal pre-filters, which are sold separately.
