Bosch Power Tools introduces the 18-volt barrel-grip jig saw, model GST18V-47N, designed with ergonomics and precision in mind, according to the company.

“When making curve cuts at length, it is of the utmost importance to have solid control and precision in your tool. Our new barrel-grip jig saw allows you to keep your hand nice and close to the work piece, maximizing the control of the tool, similar to working with a pen or pencil,” says product manager Corey Hinkel.

“The GST18V-47 also offers an auto-stop feature, allowing the user to stop on a dime and providing more precision by eliminating possible nicks or mars in the workpiece. The tool provides enough power for plunge cuts in hard wood or aluminum, making it ideal for cutting and fitting cabinetry and even sink cutouts.”

The jig saw features variable speed, four orbital action settings, tool-free blade changing, and LED work light.

The bare tool, compatible with the Bosch 18-volt battery platform, sells for $149.
