Triton Tools presents the TPL180B Power Planer, an evolution of its predecessor, model TPL180, featuring a 7” cutting width and the company’s patented triple-blade drum.
“This would be ideal for doing any type of flattening, live-edge work, dimensional lumber. It’s a nice in-between from a smaller hand-held planer versus a true stationary product,” says Stas’ Kotula, the North America business development manager for Toolstream Inc., Triton’s U.S. distributor.
“There’s nothing in this size out there. The next biggest one is more expensive, and this retails around $300. So, it’s a very good price point, but it gives you the functionality to do some larger applications that you might not be able to use a smaller planer for or if the material’s so big you can’t put it through a stationary machine.”
Upgrades include a more powerful 14-amp motor, soft start feature, and a larger 2” dust port, according to Kotula.
Other features include a 10-position depth control dial and reversable HSS blades.
The TPL180B Power Planer sells for $309.99. For more, visit tritontools.com.
