The Cabinet Makers Association announced the winners of its 13th annual Wood Diamond Awards program at the 2023 AWFS Fair in Las Vegas. The program started in 2010 as a way for CMA members to be recognized by their peers for their work. Gillpatrick Woodworks of Overland Park, Kan., took top honors (Best Of, Best Overall) for a face frame kitchen. “It was a total redesign, yet the homeowners wanted the kitchen to feel as if it was always there,” commented owner Bob Gillpatrick. Gillpatrick Woodworks won in five categories — Frameless, Fireplace Surround, Home Office, and Utility Storage — and tied in another. Multiple winners also included Waterworth’s Woodshop of Viking, Minn., and Symphony Kitchens of Toronto. Other winners in the residential and commercial categories included Periwinklers of Tarpon Springs, Fla.; Custom Creative Furniture of Lawrenceville, Ga.; Letendre Custom Woodworks of Hobe Sound, Fla.; Cabinet Designs of Gallatin, Mo.; Dibbleville Woodworks of Fenton, Mich.; Chandler Cabinets of Pilot Point, Texas; Stutler Cabinets of Portland, Ore.; Colorado Cabinet Makers of Loveland, Colo.; Bill Truitt Woodworks of Charlotte, N.C.; Farage KMA Storage Solutions of West Fargo, N.D.; Westside Custom Cabinets of Poulsbo, Wash., and Premier Custom Carpentry of Spring Hill, Fla.

The CMA was incorporated in 1998 by a group of custom cabinetmakers who thought the industry’s smaller shops needed to network and help each other grow profitably.
